Busbud, the Montreal, Canada-based company that offers a platform allowing consumers to easily book bus travel accommodations, has announced a formal partnership with Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in all of North America. The partnership is an effort to expand travel options for travelers during this holiday season, adding 3,800 North American routes from Greyhound onto Busbud’s platform.

“Busbud aims to be a go-to resource for travelers worldwide, and our new relationship with Greyhound gives customers even greater access to high-quality bus travel in North America,” said Busbud CEO and cofounder LP Maurice in a statement. “Bus transportation is a more affordable and environmentally sound way to travel, and with the massive network Greyhound serves, Busbud customers can arrive home for the holidays even closer to their loved ones’ doorsteps.”

Considered the Kayak for bus transportation, Busbud’s platform allows travelers from across the globe to search, compare, and book bus trips online. The company aggregates bus routes from nearly 1,500 bus companies from around the world – across 89 countries. The online platform is currently available in 11 different languages and processes 21 different currencies, allowing Busbud to easily provide consumers around the world to book tickets directly for the more than 170,000 available routes on their website.

“Greyhound anticipates nearly one million customers to travel to over 2,300 destinations across the United States during the December holidays,” said Dave Leach, president and CEO, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “Our partnership with Busbud gives customers the convenience to book holiday travel with one click, offering them more travel options and a more enhanced customer experience.”

In July of this year, Busbud announced a $9M round of Series A funding co-led by Revolution Ventures and OMERS Ventures. Learn more about Busbud.
