Can’t Seem to Flag Down A Cab? Let TaxiNow Hail One For You

Hailing a cab is not always as simple as standing next on the curb with your hand in the air. I always seem to find myself in the black hole of cabs whenever I need one, and I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve called for one that never showed. Maybe I just have bad luck, but I have a feeling that I’m not the only one encountering these taxi issues. TaxiNow, the new iPhone and Android app, looks to solve all of these problems.

TaxiNow is a free app that allows anyone to see the exact location of nearby available taxis over their iPhone or Android map and hail them with one simple click. You’ll never have to guess how long it’s going to take for the cab to get there either, because TaxiNow uses your phone’s GPS and actually tracks the taxi so you can see its progress towards you.

TaxiNow is also an awesome tool for cab drivers looking to increase business. Once the app has been downloaded, it immediately recognizes your location and scans for passengers that are looking for a taxi nearby. You are notified whenever a passenger requests a taxi within your area, and you have the option to accept or reject. If accepted, a message is sent to the passenger that you are on your way!

If you’ll be at Tech Cocktail Vancouver this Saturday, July 9, be sure to stop by and meet the TaxiNow team, as they are one of our showcased startups!
