Last night at the DC Tech Meetup, the team behind CapitolHop demoed their recently launched, and very beautiful, public transit navigation app that services the Washington, DC metro area.

With the app, you can get real-time metro (subway) and bus departure schedules. While this isn’t the only app in this category, most of the rest are hard to navigate and pretty unreliable.

I lived in DC for seven years, and these apps become pretty crucial, as you grow to depend on the public transit system to get around the city. CapitolHop would be especially useful for the DC bus system. Its schedule is pretty unreliable as traffic levels vary so much from day to day.

They’re having their launch party in DC on Thursday, January 30th.
