The Challenge Festival: How Innovation Can Accelerate Social Impact

The Challenge Festival in DC is just around the corner, and host 1776 is getting ready to celebrate innovative solutions to the world’s greatest challenges, and to showcase the world’s 64 most promising startups in the categories of education, health, smart cities and energy. During the week-long celebration, there will be a variety of events which will explore solutions to global challenges through innovation. One of the events will be Accelerating Impact, taking place May 14.

The lunchtime event will include a conversation with economist and founding executive director of Beeck Center for Social Impact & Innovation at Georgetown University, Sonal Shah. Shah has played a central role in developing this next wave of social innovation through her work at the White House, co-founding a nonprofit, and current positions as a Senior Fellow at the Case Foundation as well as a Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University.

The conversation will be centered around the increasing participation of startups as partners in achieving social development missions, including improving outcomes in health and education. It’s an event you won’t want to miss! Here are the details:
