The time is finally upon us: 1776 has come back to Washington, D.C. after traveling to 16 cities around the world on the Challenge Cup Tour, and they’ve planned a week of events to teach, inspire, build connections, and party. The 1776 Challenge Festival kicks off today and runs through Saturday, May 17.
And while the Challenge Festival will end in a grand finale, 64-startup pitch competition, there are dozens of other events not to be missed.
On Friday May 16, 1776 will welcome Dr. Eric Topol to the stage for a fireside chat with Dr. Darshak Sanghavi to discuss the future of health and medicine. It promises to be an interesting conversation between the two, thanks to their collective experiences: Sanghavi is a Brookings Institution fellow and manager of the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform, and Topol was voted the number one most influential physician executive in the US in 2012.
Topol is a current, practicing cardiologist at Scripps in La Jolla, CA, and since 2006, he has lead the flagship NIH-supported Scripps Translational Science Institute. Additionally, he is a co-founder of the West Wireless Health Institute and serves as Professor of Genomics at The Scripps Research Institute.
Don’t miss out on the chance to see one of the foremost thinkers on the future of health and medicine; register for your Challenge Festival badge sooner rather than later. Topol has worked tirelessly to reshape the future of medicine, and this promises to be the first in a long line of epic keynote speakers, brought to you by 1776.
