Champagne, a View, and More at the 2017 Startup of the Year Party

At the 3-day global Innovate Celebrate 2017 Conference in San Francisco, hundreds of corporate innovators, investors, tech leaders will packed the halls at the InterContinental for a variety of panels and fireside chats. We’ll also host a trip out to the Lighthouse for the Blind, to witness how San Francisco’s blind community is creating the future of accessible technology, and run a coaching session with mentors from Draper University on how to best structure a startup pitch.

But no conference can function on information alone: Once you’ve had your veggies, it’s time for the dessert. Which is why Tech.Co and our partner Consumer Technology Association (CTA) are hosting the fifth annual Startup of the Year party on a Tuesday evening during Innovate Celebrate. Here’s what to expect.

Double the Competitors

If you enjoyed mingling with the fifty semifinalists at our Startup of the Year party, you’ll be twice as happy this go-round: This year’s party features no less than 100 competitors. It’s a number boiled down from the over 1,000 emerging startups from around the world that applied, hailing from over 43 states, 46 countries and across more than 18 industries.

We’ve met that rising demand with double the semifinalists this year, and that means double the unique startups and double the partying.

Incisive Investors

Top accelerator programs, major investors, corporate heads and industry leaders of all shades will also be in the mix at our startup showcase.

Which means that any of our 100 semifinalists might make the connection they need before our Startup of the Year is even announced. Winning isn’t just for those who walk home with a trophy: It’s for everyone who can knock the socks off of an investor at our party.

A Prime Location

The event will be at the InterContinental’s Pacific Terrace, located at the center of the action in downtown San Francisco. Naturally, you’ll have plenty of hors d’oeuvres — good luck navigating how to both chat with everyone and nibble on our appetizers while looking good doing it. You can wash them down with an expertly mixed cocktail or two, which should help.

Just don’t forget the real draw: Come for the cocktails, but stay to chat with an entrepreneur you’ve just met who might go on to be the next startup founder honored at Innovate Celebrate 2017.
