Chris Guillebeau Previews His New Book/Survival Guide, “The $100 Startup”

Following in the footsteps of Timothy Ferriss and The 4-Hour Workweek, world traveller and entrepreneur Chris Guillebeau has written a book called The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future. Available on May 8, this “comprehensive plan for freedom” takes 50 case studies of businesses earning $50,000+ and distills them into concrete lessons, common mistakes to avoid, and inspiring stories.

With Guillebeau on a quest to visit all the world’s countries by next year (he’s hit 177 so far), we were lucky to snag him for an interview at our SXSW #StartupLife Celebration Saturday. He talked about how to get the most out of SXSW – have some goals and things you want to do, but meet as many people as possible – and how to live an unconventional life without completely upending it.
