I think that the value of a well-built API is somewhat underrated these days. I’m not saying that people don’t appreciate them – I just think that they’ve become so commonplace we tend to forget just how much they simplify life for a lot of entrepreneurs.

Not to mention that almost every business in our modern, digital age is using this technology. That is, businesses are using APIs like crazy to stay competitive and communicate with both partners and customers more effectively.

The difficult decision comes when trying to decide if you should license an outside API or develop one internally. After all, it’s great to automate workflows with an API, but if you can’t deliver a uniform and reliable experience with your skills you should consider looking towards outside firms.

Citrusbyte is a full stack, design and development firm that specializes in helping companies get the APIs they need to run more efficiently. They’ve built products that have completely transformed industries, like the AT&T M2X Internet of Things platform.

“If you want to be a true agile development team at any company of more than 10 developers, than APIs and microservices are a must. Netflix, Amazon, and Twitter have already proven that using API services they can stay ahead of their competition and deliver continuous value to their user base,” says David Kullmann, Partner at Citrusbyte.

What he’s also saying here, indirectly, is that the market for APIs is still as hot as ever and only going to continue to grow. In that regard, Citrusbyte recently announced the launch of their newest product, Mission Control.

The turnkey API management platform instantly creates a developer portal with instructions on how developers can integrate with APIs successfully. According to the team, the driving philosophy behind Mission Control was to help the world create better software.

Developers using Mission Control will essentially get a one stop location for all API management, key management, and documentation. At the same time the Citrusbyte team built in safeguards to allow public access without risk of abuse and custom pricing to fit any type of user.

At the end of the day, Citrusbyte wants to work with startups on the fundamentals of their business, from business and product strategy all the way to defining first customer interactions. They’re confident that with their expertise, and the new Mission Control launch, they’ll be able to help you get to market and validate your product faster.
