CityPockets Snags Largest Inventory of Daily Deals with Acquistion of DealBurner

CityPockets, the very first digital wallet and secondary marketplace for daily deals, which I wrote about in March, has scooped up DealBurner, an SMS-based service that just launched last month – they send out daily deals instantly to users who check in on Foursquare or Facebook Places.

This will really bust out CityPockets capabilities.  They already help you store and manage vouchers from more than 30 daily deal sites and buy and sell vouchers via their a secondary marketplace.  They also recently launched mobile apps for iPhone and Android and a “gifting” function.

It will be fun to keep an eye on them and see what else they have up their sleeve.   Think they’re going after Living Social and Groupon, but from a different angle rather than head-on?  Looks like it to me.  What do you think?  Leave a comment below!
