When you think of streaking, you think of the craziness of college days or the wild antics of sports fans. CityStreak, a new start-up based in Chicago, aims to put a completely different spin on the word when they launch their urban challenges in Chicago and Nashville this summer and additional markets in the next few months.
Founded by Daniel Goldstein and Carter Hopkins, two recent college grads who devised their new business platform on their shared life interests, CityStreak delivers fun urban adventures. Their mantra, or “Swag” as they call it, beckons the youthful energy of their challenges: Live life to the fullest, dream BIG, be passionate about what you do, make memories and work hard, play hard.
The CityStreak adventures are carefully designed 1 to 2 hour weekly challenges, getting participants involved in an Amazing Race-type adventure through their favorite neighborhoods to win cash and prizes.
Participants sign up online, recruit friends for their CityStreak adventure and await email instructions the day of the adventure. Email instructions lay out the different challenges involved in the CityStreak, along with clues and questions to help them win. The name of the game is to be strategic and quick – being knowledgeable about the neighborhoods also helps.
The local CityStreak team collaborates with area businesses to incorporate them within their challenges, whether it is trying a new product, to doing 10 pushups at the neighborhood gym, to earning credit or even singing the lyrics to the latest Lady Gaga tune in order to secure points. This collaboration raises the visibility of the small businesses and incorporates great sponsorship opportunities for the CityStreak team.
Additional cities are coming, and an iPhone app is currently being developed to take the challenges mobile.
Adventures and a cash prizes await the winning team, so the only question left to answer is, are you ready to CityStreak?
