So, what is Startup Week and what can you expect from this momentous celebration? Startup Week is put on by Up Global, which is “a non-profit dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, grassroots leadership, and strong communities”. Up Global describes Startup Week best as, “over the course of five days, participants in Startup Week can choose the events they’d like to attend. Typically these events are held at various venues across a city. Speakers from the community, and outside it, are brought in to share their story to motivate and inspire the entrepreneurial community. Local organizers select the tracks they feel are most relevant to their community and choose speakers based on those tracks.”

Dallas Startup Week (DSW15) will be a celebration of the Dallas startup community put on by the community itself. Current tracks for DSW15 include:

  • Business
  • Fashion
  • Funding
  • Health
  • Travel
  • Food
  • Social Entrepreneurship / Philanthropy
  • Education
  • Commercial Real Estate

Within each track there will be a bevy of interesting sessions to attend. Exciting sessions such as:

In addition to the sessions, there are events going on during DSW15 that include organizations/topics such as:

  • RealTech
  • Digital Dallas
  • City Fair
  • House of Genius
  • Big DOCC
  • 1 Million Cups
  • Community Give Back Event
  • Dallas New Tech
  • Reverse Job Fair
  • Ignite DFW
  • Startup Grind
  • And, of course, the Wrap Party

Dallas joins more than 25 cities around the globe in hosting Startup Week events. In a statement provided by the DSW15 committee, “the goal of Dallas Startup Week is to connect our expanding community of entrepreneurs and investors to opportunities for mentoring, partnership, and friendship over common goals, struggles, and achievements.”

Entrepreneurs, community leaders, investors, and businesses from around the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex are invited to attend the sessions and events that will be held during March 2-6. And, don’t feel the need to be a bona fide entrepreneur to attend DSW15. From startups to executives in Corporate America, Dallas Startup Week will offer something of interest to everyone, and all will benefit from the buzzing innovation and exchange of ideas that will engulf the free 5-day conference.

Dallas Startup Week is powered by Chase and UP Global. Sponsors include Sabre, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, and CBRE. Hope to see you March 2-6 deep in the heart of the Texas startup scene!
