At the recent Get Started Las Vegas event, Sarah Evans took some time to interview the five finalist companies outside of the lights and pressure of the main pitch stage. The event, hosted by Cox and Inc.com, focused on showcasing some of the hottest companies Las Vegas has to offer the startup world and awarded the winner a prize package valued at $15,000.

David Leibner, founder of It’s on Me, brought his company to the final pitch round at the event and even though it’s a startup at heart, they’ve already seen some success. Currently live in Las Vegas and San Diego, It’s on Me has three other cities lined up to launch in soon.

The mobile gifting platform wants to make it super easy for friends to gift another friend in real time and say congratulations, happy birthday, or thank you in a unique way outside of flowers or chocolate. On the back end though, It’s on Me is purely a b2b platform that gives businesses and brands a way to drive revenue for themselves.

According to Leibner, we live in a real-time economy and a real-time society; we’ve never been more hyper aware of celebratory events. His response to that is simple: let’s celebrate them in the best way we can, even if we can’t physically be there.
