On Saturday, March 6, Chicago-based Tech in the Middle will host their first Day of Mobile conference with notable speakers talking and teaching on iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile.  The conference also features a Hackathon contest with over $3,000 in cash and prizes for people who develop the most compelling mobile apps during the event.

This conference aims to prepare both Chicago’s application development community and companies with the knowledge and tools to tackle the upcoming mobile revolution.  Day of Mobile will cover myriad topics relative to mobile development and strategy such as platform SDKs, cross platform development, multimedia, CMS/SMS, mobile business models and many more.

Keynote speaker Jay Freeman is famous for launching the Cydia Store, an alternative to the iTunes App Store, out of frustration with Apple’s policies.  He is one of the most established developers in the mobile community and has been featured in Wired Magazine.  Other notable speakers include Agile development thought leader Bob Martin; David Whatley, developer of Time Magazine’s Top 10-ranked game geoDefenseSwarm; Sean Vosen & Vincent Ricciardi of Vokal Interactive; and Chris Grove of KeyLimeTie.

The Day of Mobile developer Hackathon, led by Peter Morano of KeyLimeTie, allows attendees to form teams in advance of the conference to compete for awards by developing and presenting new mobile applications. The contest winners will be named at the end of the day, immediately before the keynote speech.  Visit the Day of Mobile site for complete Hackathon rules.  Sign up either as team or as an individual and you will be matched up with a team the day of the event.  Hackathon members will receive a 50% discount of the conference admission price ($19.95).

Sign up today for only $39.95.  Students receive a discounted price of $29.95, given the day of the event with valid Student ID.
