Food can be a powerful motivator. For undergrads and dedicated foodies Randall Shore and Daniel Preiss, it was all they needed to launch thestrEATS (street + eats), a new website that provides a map of gourmet food truck locations in DC and Arlington.
Just think: no more sorting through your Twitter feed or favorite blogs just to grab lunch or a snack. TheStrEATS plots over 35 food trucks on a big map—blue tags for Virginia, red for DC. Each food truck is identified by a letter. Scroll down below the map and you’ll find a list of the trucks, their location, their last tweet, and the letter they are associated with on the map.
ThestrEATS even provides users with information about upcoming food truck events, price ranges, and menu items. With the popularity of food trucks gaining momentum here and in other cities (New York and LA spring to mind) and plans to add a mobile app and new features, we can see the strEATS team going far with their new venture.
If you’re in the DC area, come meet the team behind thestrEATS as they showcase their new product at tonight’s Washington, D.C. Tech Cocktail mixer event at Slaviya in Adams Morgan.
