NextGen Angels has announced that Brett Gibson will take the helm as its managing director. The DC-based angel group that focuses on early-stage investments began looking for someone to fill this role at the end of 2013. With this most recent addition, we’re sure to see a lot more activity from NextGen Angels throughout the rest of this year as they continue to help build the DC startup community.

Brett Gibson joins NextGen Angels with both a firm knowledge of finance and the DC area. Prior to this managing director role, Gibson worked at DC-based LivingSocial on corporate and business development for nearly three years. Before attending Harvard Business School, he also worked as an investment analyst for The Carlyle Group, a major private equity management firm also based in DC, and as an associate for Deloitte.

Tech Cocktail’s CEO Frank Gruber and COO Jen Consalvo are also members of NextGen Angels.
