Social Media presents a number of challenges for organizations, one of which is capturing the data. Dexrex Gear’s ChatSync enables enterprises to capture, store and access real-time text communications, including IM, SMS messges and social media. The product provides the broad support in an array of deployment options, from on-premesis appliances to hosted environments to a software-as-a-service/cloud computing environment.
There are three areas that ChatSync can support:
- Messaging platforms such as those from Google, AOL, MSN and others.
- Internal, real-time messaging from enterprise collaboration and communications tools, such as LiveOffice. Blackberry messaging and SMS.
- Social media applications such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
ChatSync can also be provided through value-added resellers and is currently depoloyed with four email storage and compliance platform vendors, including SECCAS, USA.NET and local cloud-based email archiving solution provider Sonian.
Dexrex Gear was originally founded as a college project by co-founders Derek Lyman and Richard Tortora, both of whom were members of the UMass entrepreneurship program. Derek, now CEO of Dexrex Gear, and Richard, now CTO, saw instant messaging, SMS and social media as the next crucial data stream, both with consumers and within enterprises, and saw the potential for aggregating and storing that data for business intelligence and rising regulatory and compliance concerns.
Come check out the ChatSync services as Dexrex will be a showcased startup featured at tonight’s TECH cocktail Boston startup mixer at the Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge.
