Living in or close to a big city can be a lot of fun, as it usually offers endless entertainment options. The only problem is that you probably know all the good spots around your specific location, but what if you felt like venturing out a little and finding a great spot on the other side of town? Now with Scoville, you can get recommendations and discover your new favorite spot.
Scoville is a new location discovery service that lets you share your favorite destinations and see what others recommend. Anyone is able to use their service through their website, but you can also connect with Scoville using your Foursquare account.
When you check-in on Foursquare or via the website, you can add a #toptuesday hashtag and a tip about your location. By adding this hashtag, Scoville recognizes this as one of your newly discovered “liked” places and will recommend it to your Foursquare friends as a preferred spot.
Every Tuesday you will also receive recommendations from your friends’ top places for the week, hence the #toptuesday hashtag. Scoville essentially puts your social networks to work to help you find places you’ll love.
If you are ready to get going, you just need to have 100 check-ins on Foursquare or Facebook Places. If you have less than 100, no worries, you will receive an invite as soon as it’s out of beta.
With so many location-based recommendation engines out there, will you try Scoville? What other services do you use and like? Leave a comment below!
