If you are a fan of Disney Channel or have small kids, chances are you know who Jake Paul is. Paul is one of one of the main characters of Bizaardvark, one the channel’s latest series. He rose to fame on the currently discontinued app Vine, now focusing his attention on YouTube and his career in teen entertainment.
Recently, Paul also ventured in the entrepreneurial world, with the foundation of his own company. TeamDom is a modern-day media conglomerate, focused on building powerful brands, stories, celebrities, and businesses around teen entertainment and media.
It has just been officially announced that TeamDom raised $1 million in a funding round led by Danhua Capital. This investment will be used to increase the company’s workforce, develop and monetize influencer products, develop a TV show, and produce more viral content for brands. Edward Lando (Horizons Alpha), Gary Vaynerchuk (Vayner Capital), Abe Burns (Sound Ventures & A-Grade Investments), and Adam Zeplain also took part in this investment round.
Jake Paul, CEO and founder of TeamDom, commented on his company’s role in the media industry, and why this investment is important:
“Social media is not just an alternative to traditional media; it is turning the traditional model on its head and totally shaking up how consumers make decisions. Yet major media companies are struggling to keep up with this shift – that is where TeamDom comes in. We know the world of social inside and out, and we offer unprecedented expertise, scale and process for this lucrative new frontier.
TeamDom is already home to the cream of the social influencer crop, generating over 40 million followers and 7 billion views with our current line-up of young, rising social media stars. We are excited to discover, grow, and monetize even more influencers with the support of Danhua and our other investors.”
TeamDom is a media conglomerate, including talent labels, such as Team 10. This is the world’s first social media talent label, featuring several of the most powerful social media stars. It helps them to grow their visibility and following. Social media influencers tend to be individuals but with this company, Jake Paul aims to put the goal on collaboration.
The company has generated over 40 million followers and 7 billion views, and successfully worked with brands like Coca Cola, General Mills, Pandora and many others.
