On Friday, the Crystal City, Arlington, VA-based Disruption Corporation officially began construction on an expansion project that will double the current size of its Crystal Tech Fund workspace.

Founded by Paul Singh, the Disruption Corporation created the Crystal Tech Fund earlier this year as a venture arm to invest in post-seed, high-growth tech startups. As part of these investments, portfolio companies work out of the Crystal City space created to support their growth. According to Disruption Corp. Venture Partner, Brooke Salkoff, the Crystal Tech Fund mural that has quickly become a renowned symbol of the rapid development of technology initiatives in Crystal City was carefully dissected from the wall to officially begin construction on the additional space. “We have the whole floor – an acre in total – and we are building it out one-third at a time,” she said.

“It was an incredible process of dissecting the mural wall and reinstalling it – this opens up a whole second third of the floor which will we’ll reveal in full next month,” said Salkoff.
