A few of the startups that will be showcased at the TECH cocktail SXSW: Blackout Sunday event are still in stealth-mode. Go Try It On is one of them. But while this startup is still in the closet, it offers an interesting promise; it will help unsure fashionistas feel a bit more secure before they venture out of their own closets.
Go Try It On will allow guests to share photos of themselves to get honest opinions on their looks before they reveal themselves to the public. It’s described by the team as:
“Yelp meets brick & mortar dressing rooms…GO TRY IT ON seeks to take the experience consumers have in store dressing rooms or while getting ready with friends to the online space.”
You will be able to ask the community at large for feedback or, if you’re a bit more shy, keep your look private and share with a select group. The site is geared toward real-time feedback, allowing users to plug in connections they want to hear comments from, so recipients get a direct e-mail or instant message. Go Try It On also has a small team of experts to ensure you get feedback asap. Another nice touch is a feature that allows users to directly ask a brand for specific fashion advice.
