On November 12, Dropoff will be launching for businesses to ensure their same-day deliveries get from Point A to Point B safely. There are many industries that have been advanced by same-day delivery, but courier services have not progressed. Local businesses are still trusting their precious cargo with a handshake and a dash of hope that their package will arrive as intended.
With Dropoff, businesses will be able to manage their same-day courier needs through a simple online process that provides true real-time tracking, ease-of-use in ordering and confirmation, transparent pricing, and accurate ETAs for pickup and delivery. As you can imagine, for businesses in legal, real estate, accounting, and healthcare, same-day deliveries are a crucial part of their everyday business. This market alone is said to be worth $8.7 billion.
According to the company’s press release, the service releases today for same-day delivery in Austin, TX and plans to add more metropolitan areas soon. In May 2014, Dropoff closed a $1.85 million seed round including Austin Ventures, Silverton Partners, Mucker Capital and other prominent angel investors from Austin, Los Angeles, and Silicon Valley.
“The idea for Dropoff was born from a personally frustrating experience I had with a local courier service,” said Sean Spector, CEO and co-founder of Dropoff. “I found the overall level of service lacking. Surprisingly, few couriers provided delivery confirmations and virtually none offered real-time package tracking — best practices already utilized by other industries. We founded Dropoff to elevate same-day delivery so businesses can focus on serving their customers, instead of worrying about how their packages are getting from Point A to Point B.”
With Dropoff, customers submit a Dropoff request at Dropoff.com via their desktop or mobile phone and are able to see clear and cost-effective upfront pricing. This creates a request for a nearby Dropoff Agent who has been thoroughly screened, trained, and insured through the company. The Agents are enabled by the proprietary mobile app that allows them to accept requests and manage their daily work in real-time. Customers are able to view the exact location of the impending delivery at any time and receive confirmations throughout the process.
Unlike most other same-day delivery companies, Dropoff has four levels of insurance: General Liability, Hired & Non-Owned Auto, Cargo Insurance and Fidelity Bond Insurance. With 24/7 online and phone customer support, Dropoff is available to help with any questions customers may have. Billing, reporting and address books for expedited ordering are always accessible via each customer’s streamlined account page.
