DrumUp Takes a Shot at Fixing Content Discovery

There are many in the tech world who would tell you that content marketing is fast becoming the most preferred channel for sharing content. While they wouldn’t be wrong, there is still a disparity between large and small businesses supporting both the time and financial resources required for maintaining an influential social media presence.

In other words, relevant content discovery is still a largely unresolved problem. The more content that’s generated by exponentially multiplying sources the more difficult it becomes to mine content that is highly personal and contextual to a business’ needs.

DrumUp was built to be a new, more fully comprehensive content discovery, curation, and social sharing platform. In effect it allows users to generate highly personalized news and content streams based on their one-time positive and negative keyword inputs: it solves the problem of mining for specific, niche content.

Using sophisticated data mining and natural language processing algorithms to sort through the huge amount of content that’s generated online each day, DrumUp matches search results with an individual user’s preferences. The platform’s content suggestions are generated daily from trusted sources and all recommended stories are recent.

“This is a great advantage for users hoping to catch viral stories early in order to ride the media wave,” says Sophia Solanki, cofounder of DrumUp.

But it goes far beyond that as DrumUp also offers social media content management features like the ability to schedule curated and custom posts while adding social media accounts for publishing. According to the team, this functionality increases brands’ social media presence while simultaneously cutting Twitter and Facebook management time by 90 percent.

To date there have been over 2,500 social accounts registered on DrumUp, only a few months post launch. Users are currently schedule and posting upwards of 60,000 posts per month, and to celebrate the DrumUp team is offering their services for free for a limited time.

Not only that, Solanki and her team today announced the release of their Android app with an iOS to follow soon.

“DrumUp is getting geared for mobile to facilitate on-the-go content discovery and social sharing,” says Solanki. “The apps are being designed for an uncluttered look and simple workflow.”

Uncluttered and simple: there’s not one person in the world who could say no to that. We’ll keep you updated as DrumUp continues to build their platform out.
