Election Day is finally here and these contentious candidacies will come to a close in just a few hours. With all the social media fighting and polling place chaos, a little bit of good news can go a long way in helping you make it through November 8th. Fortunately a wide range of companies are providing free stuff and discounts on products, services, and goodies.
From Uber and Lyft to Postmates and the YMCA, organizations around the country are committing to providing voters with everything from free rides and child care to discounted food and clothing. Take a look at some of the deals below so you can make this Election Day a little more manageable:
This ride sharing service is providing discounted rides in Chicago, Washington DC, and New York during certain election hours. In Chicago, riders are privileged to 25 percent, while New York riders are enjoying 20 percent of rides. Washington DC has it best with a whopping 50 percent of all rides from 10am to 2pm.
In hopes of allowing voters to sit at home and watch the results roll in, Postmates, the food and grocery delivery service, is waiving their delivery fees all day long!
This simple rental car service understands that not everyone can take off work to go vote during the day. In hopes of easing this burden, Zipcar is offering free select cars from 6pm to 10pm so you can get to the polls without a worry.
Taking your children to the polls is akin to bringing your dog on an airplane: chaos will likely ensue. Fortunately, the YMCA has decided to provide free health care that parents that need to vote. The Zoe’s Kids Day Out initiative will allow parents and children to enjoy Election Day the right way.
Everyone deserves a treat after voting. That’s why Krispy Kreme is offering a free doughnut to anyone that can prove they voted! However, make sure to check out the list of exceptions as there does appear to be a lot of them.
