Elizabeth Stark, a born and bred East Coaster, took her years of past experience teaching about the future of the Internet at Yale and decided to come to the West Coast. A passion for the Open Web led her to a major crossroads in the Silicon Valley tech startup scene: Stanford University.

While she was not a founding member, Stark has made a home for herself as an entrepreneur in residence at Stanford’s StartX. The nonprofit accelerator develops top entrepreneurs by way of experiential education.

She has been able to dedicate her efforts to something bigger than a photo sharing app or a solid revenue stream. Stark, along with the affiliates at StartX, are working together to achieve real solutions to real problems.

By way of technology, StartX, Stark, and the Stanford community are constantly working to bring positive change and impact to the world. Here is the video:

Tech Cocktail Week is a monthly series of events that takes place downtown Las Vegas and is produced in partnership with Tony Hsieh’s Downtown Project.
