When was the last time you took a long holiday? You might think I’m just trying to pull your leg. Nope! I’m not kidding, I’m absolutely serious. Like all normal human beings, you too need a holiday to take some time for yourself.

I completely understand that, to run a successful company, you need to be around your business 24/7. But at the same time, you also need to take time out to relax and understand how you can grow your business even from a distance. Working long hours without taking some “me time” can actually take a toll on your immune system. It’s therefore advisable to take a vacation and rejuvenate yourself once every three months. But the entrepreneur in you is still not convinced, because business always runs through your mind. No problem – here are a few ways to make your vacation work for you.

Opt for a tax-deductible vacation

You are a young startup entrepreneur. Hence, money and time are equally important for your business growth. So start with attending a conference related to your business. When you spend time with other professionals in your field, you get to energize yourself. You can learn more, share your business ideas, and even find customers! And most importantly, the tax guys can’t really charge you more because it was not just a vacation but work, too.

Go offshore

Take your business offshore with a vacation. There are a lot of companies who visit their clients, partners, or customers offshore, once a business deal is signed. You get a direct chance to work with your offshore team and also enjoy a vacation in a far-off land. And to top it all off, it remains entirely free for you! So you save while you work and party hard.

Keep it short and simple

If you’re worried that going out for a long holiday might disturb your business goals, fret not – there’s a solution for that, too! Start with a short three-day-weekend getaway. Plan a trip to a place of interest nearby. Just keep your work pressure and tensions at bay. While you laze on the poolside, you can put your thinking cap on. Often, wonders happen when your mind is at ease!

Maintain a vacation schedule

We all know that “all work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” So why would you be a dull Jack when you can be the real Jack who still knows his business perfectly? Get ready to plan a vacation schedule where you can reserve time for some work and also chill out without worrying. The idea is to enjoy both worlds – work and private life. For example, you can devote half an hour of your day to answering calls, replying to emails, and making further plans, while the rest of the day is reserved for fun and frolic.

Use your vacation to learn marketing

When you travel, you get to see a lot of things around you apart from the regular office and people. Start at the airport, and see how airlines and restaurants are marketing their product and building strategies to get more business. The more you observe, the more you will learn. And if you find anything worth adapting for your business, why wait? Use your smartphone to launch your marketing idea ASAP.

Always remember, you are an entrepreneur because you wanted to take full control of your life. So do not let your business and work control you. Live your life to the fullest with your work and forget the worries.
