Spring Framework 5.0 and Deploying Safely and Securely [PHOENIX]
Sep 12, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm MST
Spring Framework 5.0 is here! – Kenny Bastani
One of the most exciting introductions in this release is support for reactive programming, building on the Pivotal Reactor project to support message-driven, elastic, resilient and responsive services. Spring Framework 5 integrates an MVC-like component model adapted to support reactive processing and a new type of web endpoint, functional reactive endpoints. In this talk, we’ll look at the net-new Netty-based web runtime, how existing Servlet code can run on the new world, and how to integrate it with existing Spring-stack technologies.
Stop spending lots of time doing deployment safely and securely – Andy Lowe
Deploying to production usually involves deploying code, updating configurations, testing the new deployment, and rolling back if something didn’t go well. On top of that, it’s also very common to have various change management and security requirements that ultimately add time to the deployment process. Together, all of these steps end up being time consuming and error prone. While automating the actual deployment is common for 12-factor apps, the rest of the process is often still done manually. This leaves a large space where we can still do some automation.
