I have to say that I am very impressed with the startups out there that are eager to fix the problems inherent with daily deal sites. From offering a platform to buy and sell already-purchased deals to giving small businesses the tools to do it themselves, there is a lot of creative problem-solving going on in the US.
Minneapolis-based FanTools is one such solution in the latter category. A division of tech startup Four51, FanTools a social promotions platform that gives businesses full control of deals and promotions on the web, social media and mobile. You get to deliver offers to your fans where, when, and how you want to.
There is a lot of flexbility built into FanTools. After all, you know where your fans are way better than LivingSocial and Groupon. You can create, publish, and distribute discount coupons, flash deals, group deals, information posts, etc. and send them to your customers and prospects in an opt-in environment. The deals can be sent out on Facebook and Twitter, on your website, in your email marketing, and on SMS.
