Fashion Gets Social With Clothia

Shopping is more fun when you bring a couple of girlfriends along, and this social aspect is the inspiration behind the new website, Clothia.  Clothia is an online gathering place for fashionistas to connect, create, and share.

Founder Elena Silenok describes Clothia as a social network where fashion meets technology.  Users can create virtual closets, mix-n-match outfits, and share their creations with friends.  By watching videos and reading blogs, users can participate in the community of friends, stylists, and fashion designers on Clothia.

If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with new trends and runway looks without a trip to Fifth Avenue or Rodeo Drive, Clothia lets you do that, too.  Using augmented reality via a webcam, you can try on new outfits, share the looks on Clothia, Facebook, and Twitter, and get feedback from a community of friends and trendsetters.  The site is currently in private beta, but you can sign up for an invitation to join.

Clothia is one of our showcased startups at Tech Cocktail NYC this Thursday, April 14.  Be sure to stop by to learn more!

Not in NYC? Silenok demo’d Clothia at last month’s NY Tech Meetup- you can watch the video here.
