If you’re a big reader, you know how hard it is to find a really good book. Sure, there are certain friends you can ask who have tastes similar to yours, but what if they’re all of a sudden reading nothing but vampire books and you think those are beyond dumb?
Enter BookLikes, a new web service that allows book lovers to find and share information on books they love. When you sign up, you get a personal reading profile that showcases your interests and past reads. Based on that information, you get recommendations from trusted resources and from a BookLike algorithm that will suggest great books based on your own reading preferences.
You can also see what other people have read, are reading, or plan to read, so you can snag recommendations from them, too. When you’re at the bookstore, just whip out your phone and use their mobile app. Of course, you can share your BookLikes with your Twitter followers and Facebook friends. The site is reminiscent of the original Facebook app by LivingSocial – Visual Bookshelf, and the popular site GoodReads.com.
If you’ve got a big vacation coming up, check them out today and get stocked up on great reads before you go.
