For years, eco-minded celebrities, business people, and the just plain old wealthy have been driving Priuses. As fuel-efficient as it might be, it’s not exactly a sexy car with a high head-turning quotient, but if you wanted to drive green, your options were severely limited.

Until now.

Hybrid electric car manufacturer Fisker Automotive has begun delivering the first electric luxury car, the Fisker Karma.  Its proprietary EVerTM (Electric Vehicle extended range) powertrain allows you to travel up to 300 miles on one tank of gas.

This is a super hot car, as you can see from the image above, but check out the photos and videos on their website.  I am guessing it doesn’t come with the girl.

The price tag is not bad at all: $100,000.  3,000 pre orders have been taken, and the first one has already been delivered to Kleiner Perkins investor and Fisker Chairman of the Board Ray Lane.

You get a choice of 2 driving modes with the Karma: Sports Mode uses the Lithium-Ion battery and internal combustion engine (top speed is 125mph), while the Stealth Mode is all electric (top speed is 95mph).

With combined city/highway driving, the Karma gets an average of 67mpg (3.5L/100km).  You start it up keylessly, and the interior features an intuitive touch-screen interface that controls the auto, climate, navigation, audio/infotainment, phone and other systems.

Ready to order one?  You can configure to your specs here, or find a retailer to order it through here.   Just a heads up: Karmas are back-ordered through 2012.
