Five Apps You Don’t Want to Miss: Peek-a-Boo, BabyLooks, Touchdown Hero, and More

You know, sometimes rainy days (and staying at home) help us realize how many things we miss from our child’s everyday life – think about the smiles and laughter you don’t see when he or she achieves a goal. That’s why this week’s roundup will focus a bit on family. But, of course, entertainment is an essential component of a happy family, so yes, this means games as well! Here is my recipe for this weekend.

I will start off by asking you: Do you remember the videos you made of your children opening their birthday or Christmas presents? Do you remember the joy on their faces? Peek-a-Boo aims to help you capture the same emotions, the joy of your child. It is the first iOS app specifically designed to record your child playing the classic peek-a-boo, and allows you to share it on social media channels. Peek-a-Boo costs $2.99 and can be downloaded from the iOS App Store [download link].

It’s an open secret: Every parent wants to know which parent a baby or child looks like the most – I do, for example. I recall asking my friends to tell me which one of my two children looks like me. Now, you don’t have to meet with them: you can use BabyLooks. Take a photo of Mom and Dad and the child. After that, simply share it with your friends and family, and poll them for their thoughts. The BabyLooks app costs $1.99 and can be downloaded from the iOS App Store [download link].

Sofia the First

Since my daughter is in love with Sofia the First, it’s great to see that Disney has developed a fun creative app with this theme. Kids can paint everything in Sofia’s Royal Bedrook, even Sofia and Closer. After that, they come to life in 3D. The combination of tools, colors, and patterns stickers seems to be endless, and kids can play with Clover-like dolls. Sofia the First costs $4.99 and can be downloaded from the iOS App Store [download link].

Touchdown Hero: New Season

Just in time for the start of the NFL regular season, Cherrypick Games launched the sequel to their popular Touchdown Hero game (2 million downloads and featured on the App Store), Touchdown Hero: New Season. The app comes with lots of improvements to the interface and handling, and additional language support, but what’s more important is that it’s a lot of fun! You can download the app for free from the App Store [download link].

Naught Reawakening

This is the latest chapter of the 2009 PC hit Naught, which saw 1 million downloads worldwide. Now it’s coming to Steam and iOS. With Naught you will enter a multi-gravitational world, as the character is not limited just to the ground. In fact, the whole world moves as the character moves. What I loved is that it is a non-violent game and has a unique art style. Naught Reawakening is available for free in the App Store [download link] and Steam [download link].
