Frenzoo works hard to pioneer new classes of 3D lifestyle games for women and girls, and today they announced a successful $1 million funding round as well as the launch of meTropolis. The funding round was led by existing investors, including Fresco Capital, K5 Ventures, and Anshe Chung Ltd: to date they’ve brought in $3 million.
The unique, cross-game universe that Frenzoo has already built features characters, quests, and storylines that carry over from app to app within the popular Me Girl franchise. Players can interact with the Me Girl cast across a diverse range of experiences spanning seven games in total, including four new role-playing and simulation games: Me Girl Love Paradise, Me Girl Love Story, Glamour Me Girl, and Me Girl Celebs. As it stands, these titles have passed over 20 million installs collectively.
“meTropolis is the first time a mobile gaming company has delivered this level of story integration between apps, and we think our players are going to love it,” says Simon Newstead, co-founder and CEO of Frenzoo. “The Me Girl line of games has become synonymous with creativity and rich storyline, and now our players can interact with their favorite characters in all new settings and gameplay situations.”
Throughout meTropolis, Me Girl characters in one game might ask a player to help them or their friends out by completing quests in another game, impacting the story in both. For example, a dating columnist in Me Girl Love Story might be asked to help her editor achieve dreams of being an actress in Me Girl Celebs, and would discover what happens next in Me Girl Love Story upon the completion of the quest.
The latest round of funding will be used to accelerate the development of more Me Girl titles, which will be added to meTropolis later this year. Additionally, Frenzoo will invest in app marketing and user acquisition as well as hire for key positions in game development, engineering, and product management.
