Helping companies grow is at the core of the Galvanize community, and to date our members have raised close to $4 B with $122M just in quarter two alone. To compartmentalize all of the positive impact, we’ve put together our second ever Entrepreneur Impact Report, we outline the impact, successes, and growth of our community members and included 9-figure funding rounds, industry awards, and company acquisitions. Let’s dig in.
By the Numbers
Galvanize has 8 campuses across 7 markets—Austin, Boulder, Denver, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle. Those 8 campuses represent 825 tech-focused companies and 2,563 members. Out of those 825 companies, 191 of them were added to the Galvanize ecosystem in the second quarter of 2017. The top 3 industries represented by our member companies are:
- Analytics (14.1%)
- E-Commerce (8.9%)
- Finance (8.9%)
Fundraising & Growth
Galvanize members have raised nearly $4B, totaling $3,837,289,640, with $122,100,000 of that being raised in the second quarter of 2017.
The distribution of fundraising across the various stages of Galvanize companies is as follows:
- Pre-Series A: $34,037,455
- Series A: $214,663,000
- Series B: $285,650,000
- Series C: $543,707,829
- Late (D+): $1,245,475,340
- Exited (IPO or Acquired): $1,513,136,016
Out of those companies, 14% grew their teams in the second quarter of 2017, and 22 of them graduated from Galvanize, which means their traction and success within the Galvanize community led to hiring more team members and moving into their own office space*.
Education is a critical component to our entrepreneurs’ success. Founders of companies at all stages need access to knowledge through workshops and mentors. We place those resources at our community’s fingertips, focusing on practical and applicable knowledge in the areas of Product, Fundraising, and Growth (Sales and Marketing), as well as technical workshops. In the second quarter of 2017 Galvanize campuses hosted:
- 323 mentor sessions
- 268 entrepreneur workshops
- 8,403 entrepreneur workshop attendees
Our mentors and workshop leaders represent the best and brightest from top tech companies in every market, allowing our entrepreneur community to solve real world problems with the guidance of experts and other entrepreneurs in the community. These mentors and workshop leaders hail from companies such as Airbnb, Google, Techstars, IBM, and Infusionsoft to name a few.
