Chances are that you have come to one of the many Tech Cocktail events that we hold throughout the year and throughout the country. We went to Denver to hold a Startup Showcase during Denver Startup Week, and we are headed to Washington DC and Miami this week for speaker sessions. Are you as excited as we are to see StyleSeat Founder Melody McCloskey in Miami? These events keep us connected to local startup communities, and we love creating connections for local founders and startups whenever we host a mixer, startup showcase, speaker session, or other event. Founders find employees, mentors, investors, and other tech supporters in their local ecosystems by coming out to the local events put on by Tech Cocktail.
We are also really proud of our City pages on the tech.co site. Even though the news, announcements, and educational content that we publish every day are featured on the national site, we also provide these City pages to pull in all of that national news when it helps to celebrate what’s happening in local communities. That way, if you want to get involved in your local tech or startup ecosystem, you can find your City page and check out highlighted stories from local founders, startups, and events – plus, you can even list your own industry event on that page too!
We’re building these pages out to bring you a better experience when you visit us on the web, so as your editor, I would like to hear from you. When you visit/[your city here], what do you want to see there? We want to bring you the best resources to get connected with other people in your community who can help you grow and thrive as an entrepreneur and tech-minded member of your local ecosystem.
So tell me: Where is your town? And what are the startup and entrepreneur resources in your town? Who are the movers and shakers? You can comment here, on Facebook, or just email me at ann [at]Tech Cocktail Miami page:. And for now, check out some of the stories that you’ll find on the
Miami-based startup Open English continues to make our tech community proud. The startup was recently featured in Y Combinator’s Alexis Ohanian’s series: Small Empires, where Ohanian interviewed co-founder Andres Moreno in the Coconut Grove offices. Watch this great interview showcasing Miami’s local tech scene.
Miami-based FlyInStyle App wants to help you make the most of the airport downtime. The app helps travelers connect with their favorite brands & retailers for instant deals, product launches and even happy hour specials! The idea is that as a customer, your layover experience is improved by cheaper options.
“Our goal is to turn airport downtime into fun time for travelers, while providing an engaging new promotional channel for the retail industry,” explains co-founder and CEO Amanda Anthony.
There’s lots more where that came from! Tell us what you would like to see more of on the Miami site – and on your city’s site, too!
