On November 13 Gett, formerly GetTaxi, expanded their reach of service beyond car bookings. The leading car service app in Israel, Russia, the UK, and New York launched an on-demand delivery and pickup service partnership with Toys for Tots.
Gett is showcasing their new technology by offering to pick up toy donations from any address within New York City, on demand or pre-scheduled through the mobile app, as part of this year’s Toys for Tots toy drive. The charitable partnership is in effect until Christmas and officially marks the launch of Gett’s on-demand delivery service.
“Since its founding in 2010, our company has had aspirations to serve as a broad on-demand platform for products and services, and our philanthropic toy pickup project with Toys for Tots is our first application of this,” says Jing Herman, CEO of Gett USA.
Last year alone, New Yorkers dropped off 400,000 new toys at Toys for Tots collection boxes throughout the city. This year, Toys for Tots is of the firm belief that the number of toys donated will skyrocket with the help of Gett, effectively tapping into a new pool of donors through pickups.
Combining technology, 24/7 live customer service, and fixed predictable prices, Gett has curated over 1 million customers, is live in 20 cities, and is turning a profit in 16 of those cities already. The company currently processes about 20,000 orders a day and is growing by 50 percent quarterly; by the end of 2013, Gett is expecting to haul in $130 million in annualized sales.
