Goshi: The Location Based Marketplace

A new startup out of Chicago is creating a fully mobile and localized application aimed at transforming the classifieds marketplace.  Goshi allows people to use their mobile phones to post items they are both looking for, as well as items they want to sell. The beauty is that each post is tagged with a location to facilitate transactions within the local community.

The guys at Goshi have clearly made user experience a main priority.  You simply take a picture with your phone, tag it with a location, and share it with world.   It takes the city-based listing style of Craigslist and makes it mobile, pinpointing listings to exact locations around a user’s current radius.

Goshi has not launched yet (you can sign up to be on their mailing list and receive news when they do), but they will be demoing their app at Tech Cocktail Chicago event this Thursday.  Come out and meet the team, get a sneak peek at their app, and see what’s selling in your local community!
