If you have dropped one of your devices before, or have been known to be a little bit clumsy, this product is for you.
Colorado-based startup Griptipz offers users of tablets, e-readers and large format phones a new, natural way to secure devices in their hands. Griptipz are soft, self-adhesive, ergonomic designed bumpers applied by the user to the flat back of devices and most covers providing a customized, natural place for fingertips to grip and pull against. The product helps reduce dropping, cramping, and awkward holding.
We all have dropped one of our devices, held our breath and hoped that it was still okay to use. According to a study, sports fans are particularly butterfingered. Among the 23 million Americans that have damaged their phones while watching a sporting event, 12 percent flung their phone in a fit of passion, while 13 percent dropped their phone into their beers.
Griptipz turned to the crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter to finance final production and bring the product to market and in 24 hours has been able to raise 85% of their goal.
With the average person owning over 3 hand-held devices, our focus was to create a secure, ergonomic solution when using these products. Not only are we saving devices, but more importantly, we’re addressing the growing issue of ‘overuse’ injuries,” said Griptipz Co-founder and CEO Robin Schaffer.
