Dealing with a shaky economy the past several years has been rough, leaving many of us wondering what we can do to help boost the businesses in our communities. Believe it or not, you can help small businesses with just a couple of minutes of your time.

In October, Chase, with Premier Sponsor Google, launched the Mission Main Street Grants program to award $3 million in grants to help small businesses grow. Twelve businesses will each receive $250,000 from Chase, along with a trip to Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, CA for an exclusive two-day interactive workshop with online marketing experts.

Here’s where you come in: The public can vote for their favorite small business until November 15. Once your favorite small business gets 250 votes, it will be eligible for a grant. Then, 12 expert panelists will select the grant recipients from the pool of applicants who meet program eligibility requirements, announcing the winners in January 2014.

So, take a couple of minutes out of your day to vote for your favorite small business. Even better, vote, and then get your friends and colleagues to vote, too!
