Here’s a Last-Minute DIY iPhone 6 Halloween Costume

For those of you who have left it to the last day to find yourself a Halloween costume (e.g., yours truly) – don’t fret! There are lots of opportunities out there for you to put together a last-minute Halloween costume; honestly, just walk around your local thrift shop and ideas should start to form immediately. If, however, you’re not so much a creative-type and need some help in the costume department, check out this quick DIY iPhone 6 Halloween costume that you can put together with minimal effort and very few resources.

Devised initially as a way to poke fun at the Apple’s #bendgate scandal, the costume can actually serve as any generic iPhone – the fact that it bends gives it the particular iPhone 6 designation. The idea was posted on HalloweenCostumes.com’s blog (which exists apparently), and puts together a step-by-step guide on how to execute. However, the steps on the post and the items needed to create the costume are honestly a little too much – I mean, there’s absolutely no need to use a full body spandex suit, nor is there any added value from wearing white cartoon gloves and geeky glasses. Then again, the company mainly does this to sell its own products.

My suggestion: 1) buy a cheap, black yoga or athletic mat that you often find at stores like T.J. Maxx, 2) print out some high-resolution images of various iPhone icons (or any resolution, really, since it’s Halloween and you’re likely to spill drinks on it anyway) and glue them to the mat, and 3) then simply cut a hole for your head. There you have it – your very own iPhone 6 Halloween costume
