Hiring Skilled Tech Candidates: A Guide for Employers [INFOGRAPHIC]

For tech employers, finding the right candidates to fit open positions can be tough. Plenty of technology analysts and education experts have pinned down the problem as a skills gap. So how can employers compensate?

The answer may lie in geography. The infographic below includes data from RemarkableHire, a platform that uses social evidence to locate job candidates. Research shows candidates with top tech skills–like knowledge of Java and mobile app development–are concentrated in certain parts of the country.

A few key points:

  • There are 77,052 available tech positions in the U.S.

  • 8 out of 10 business suffer because of the tech skills gap

  • 40% of companies plan to hire IT analysts within in the next few years

  • 25% of companies are planning to hire people with SaaS and related cloud-computing expertise
