Just In Time for Holiday Shopping: Updates from DIY Jewelry Design App MakerCraft

If you plan on doing some online holiday shopping during a lull at work or tonight after you get home, MakerCraft, which demo’d at our Samsung Chicago Mobile event in September, just announced a number of updates to their mobile app, a DIY jewelry design platform.

Their CEO, Corissa McClay, emailed us a list of their new features.  One of the updates to the app is gift codes (and cards, if someone wants them) – always perfect when it comes to jewelry, which is so personal for most women.

If you would like to design and make jewelry yourself to give as gifts, you can now save and load designs and come back and edit them until you are happy, and there is an improved help feature in case you get stuck.

Corissa wrote a blog post on Holiday Gift Tips that is really useful.  My favorite tip: if you are part of a couple – and the jewelry is meant for one of you – design it together.  That will help take the stress out of wondering if the recipient will even like it when they open their gift – or pull one of those “gee, you shouldn’t have” looks.

You can download the app here to get started.  Have fun!
