Velocomp LLP, a Florida-based sports technology company, has launched the iBike Dash CC (Cycling Computer), a light-weight wireless bicycle computer system that transforms your iPhone or iPod touch into a personal fitness trainer.
If you are a serious cyclist—or want to become one—this system will help you take your cycling regimen to the next level. It not only measures your speed, power, heart rate, wind speed, time, trip, elevation, and calories (as if that was not enough!), but it also tells you how hard is too hard; when your cycling effort is optimal for burning fat; how many calories you’re using during the ride, on all rides this week or all rides this month; what speed and distance you’re traveling; and even where you are on your bike route.
The iBike Dash CC is available through Amazon (as well as the Apple Store and Velocomp) and it comes with the holder, mount, wireless speed sensor, iBike app for iPhone or iPod touch, and iBike software for Mac and Windows desktop computers. It’s priced at $199 MSRP for the basic version and $329 for the advanced version (including cadence, HR, calorie measurement, battery and charger).
But wait! There’s more! The iBike Dash CC includes a free iBike app available from the iTunes App Store, which features customizable tools, from simple speedometers to work-out programs, and it provides easy-to-read, high-resolution color graphics and animation. You can download it from the iTunes App Store.
