Being an NFL star is a childhood dream achieved by very few. Playing in high school and college is one thing, but the skill, drive, and hard work it takes to make it in the big leagues is a near Herculean effort. However, once you’ve hung up your cleats, it’s time to find a new means of impacting the world in a positive way. And former NFL linebacker Isaiah Kacyvenski, who will be speaking at Innovate Celebrate this year, did exactly that.
While his 8 years in the NFL were well spent, his bachelor degree in Pre-Medicine and his MBA from Harvard Business School showed the world that Kacyvenski was destined for greater plains than the gridiron. He’s been awarded the Sports and Fitness Industry Leaders Scholar, as well as the PETA Compassionate Action Award for his work in medicine in regards to football. Kacyvenski is deeply involved with the long-term $100 Million Football Players Health Study at Harvard University, serving both as Player Advisor at Harvard Medical School and a Law and Ethics Advisory Panel Member at Harvard Law School.
Kacyvenski is the current cofounder and managing director of the Sports Innovation Lab, a company that identifies and evaluates technology products and services that power the future of sports. Sports Innovate Lab’s success stems from Kacyvenski own experience with wearable sensor technology, which he gleaned from being the former Global Head of Business Development and Chairman of the Sports Advisory Board at MC10, a cutting- edge conformal electronics company focused on optimizing objective physiological data capture outside of a controlled setting.
