On his late night talk show, Jimmy Fallon loves to play games with celebrity guests. So it’s no surprise that Fallon decided to create his own iPhone game. Tedzy Bear is a simple, yet addictive, game app being launched today on Product Hunt.
The premise of the game is pretty straight forward: Tedzy loves to sleep but his perfect pillow lost all its feathers (#TheStruggleIsReal). So he needs your help to collect more feathers to get a good night’s rest.
“I wanted to create a game that is fun and you can take it everywhere with you,” said Fallon in the launch video.
Created by a game production company started by Fallon and Gavin Purcell, Sparklefarmer, the app is colorful and easy to play. No 3D or complicated gimmicks you see in most games today, just old school, fun experience.
“Jimmy was very involved from the beginning. He and I came up with the concept for the game WAY too long ago and then worked with a very small core team (one developer and couple artists — with lots of other help along the way) to make the game,” explained Purcell.
Fallon joins celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Kim Kardashian, who are venturing into the business of gaming apps. DeGeneres’ game Heads Up! was Apple’s top paid app of 2014, while Kardashian’s Hollywood is worth $200 million dollars.
“We’re not sure where we’re going to go with this yet — now that we’ve released this game we’re looking at how to support it going forward,” said Purcell.
If I’m addicted already after giving it a few goes, imagine when I improve?
