Developing a game is quite hard to do. Most developers tend to focus on making a great game, forgetting other important parts of the entire experience. Engagement and community, for example, are two essential but often overlooked aspects of this – either because developers forget them, or simply because they are quite hard to implement.

KTplay is working to eliminate these hassles for developers. The company is announcing the global launch of its SDK, making it available for everyone with its expansion to the West. This platform gives developers the needed structure for an instant in-game community, directly and seamlessly connected to the actual gaming experience.

KTplay already dominates the Chinese market, with over 390 million downloads, 150 million active users, and 3,000 developers using the platform. It has also shown a 4 percent boost in session length, an 11 percent increase in daily active users, and a 10 percent bump in in-app purchases (IAP) sales.

This platform wishes to connect all parties involved in mobile gaming: gamers within the games and developers with the gamers. KTplay highly improves the whole gaming experience for all players, as it creates social communities for all players within the game.

With KTplay, users playing the game have the ability to converse within the app, increasing in-game playing times as well as retention. It also allows developers to have valuable insights into what players are saying, thus having the needed information to influence their in-game behavior. Founder and CEO Spencer Liu explained KTplay’s mission and how it can change game development in the near future:

“KTplay aims to solve a major pain point for developers around the world. Developers currently cannot touch their players; they do not have a direct and easy way to influence player behavior because all community management activities are done far away from and outside the games themselves. Where are the most engaged, active and loyal players? Developers already have them, they are right inside their game.”

This platform can easily be integrated within a mobile app, taking just 10 minutes to do so. It gives developers control to understand what players are thinking and discussing, being a useful way to aggregate all their players into a single and easy to manage community, right inside the app.

KTplay’s back end is also valuable for developers, giving them easy to use live-ops tools to run in-game events, promote IAP sales, cross-pollinate players between games, and reward outstanding influencers inside their community.

On the players’ side, KTplay provides them access to forums, where they can share and discuss strategies to help fellow players overcome challenges. They also have a quicker and more effective way to share their feedback with developers, thus really having their issues solved. Here is an overview of what players get from KTplay:

  • In-Game Forum: provides access to rich-media forum to post, share, and discuss favorite content with fellow players.
  • Customized Feed: features high quality content on a newsfeed for KTplay community.
  • Player Polls: to share opinions on everything, from a player’s favorite character to feedback on a patch.
  • Photos and Videos: to record and share favorite in-game moments or other user generated content (UGC) with peers.
  • Contests and Events: to manage and run live events by utilizing KTplay messaging and interstitials.
