How to Quickly Build a Customer Base With Lead Generation Tools

With content management systems like WordPress, getting a site up and running is no big deal. But apart from building traffic, what I find most challenging is incorporating a lead capture strategy that will actually generate some blog subscribers. Since I’m already loaded with work and I’d rather prioritize my passion for creating visual content, I don’t really have the time to draw up a solid lead generation strategy for new websites.

Luckily, there’s an abundance of lead generation tools that busy professionals can use to start building a subscriber base without investing too much time. Here are some of the best ones I’ve used so far:

Beaver Builder

What would a lead generation strategy be without landing pages to facilitate conversions? At first, I played with the code of existing themes to apply visual modifications. Even though I knew the codes I needed to use, I still relied heavily on trial and error to achieve exactly what I wanted to see.

Since WordPress is my CMS of choice, Beaver Builder is one of the first page builders that caught my attention. This tool significantly cut the time it takes to implement the layout I want to use on a landing page. All you need to do is to drag “rows” into place and plug in elements such as images, text areas, icons, and buttons. It is, however, a bit restricted to the site’s current theme, so you’ll still need code for finer details such as padding, line spacing, and so on.

OptinMonster

A contact form is one of the first interactive elements that most novice bloggers learn to use on their site. Nowadays, you’ll never run out of choices when it comes to contact form plugins that can easily be integrated into your site. It also takes only an hour to develop your own using a rapid development framework like CakePHP.

But if you want to level things up, you can use a platform like OptinMonster to create popup forms, sliding forms, floating bars, and sidebars. Everything can be done via the drag-and-drop interface. The Exit-Intent Technology also makes it easy to squeeze conversions out of website abandoners.

Take note that the visibility of forms is important if you want a landing page that converts. With OptinMonster, you can make sure visitors don’t miss your opt-in forms. You can also easily conduct split tests to help you determine the best version of your landing pages in the soonest possible time.

Crazy Egg

Maximizing conversions is all about ensuring the best experience possible to your users. This means paying attention to factors such as page loading speed, web copy, and design. Normally, one would use analytics tools such as Google Analytics to obtain raw data on how a site performs. But with a heatmap tool like Crazy Egg, you can visually observe what your audience does, where they click, and why they leave.

In addition to heatmaps, Crazy Egg can also help you track clicks and how far visitors go when scrolling down a page. It’s basically the only thing you need to make future design and layout changes on your site.

GetResponse

After focusing on your site, it’s time to use an email marketing platform and move on to lead nurturing. But since you want to save as much time as possible, you can opt for a platform with automation as one of its core features. GetResponse fits this bill perfectly. It integrates with OptinMonster, allows you to craft beautiful emails, and more importantly, enables you to create automated workflows without writing a single line of code.

For example, you can design a workflow that will send a “thank you” email automatically whenever a user makes a purchase or subscribes to your list. You can also automate reminders to those who abandon your shopping carts, allowing you to grab as many opportunities as possible for securing conversions.

Whether you develop websites as a hobbyist or as a paid professional, nothing is more satisfying than reaping the monetary rewards of your hard work. With the tools listed above, you can easily unlock the profitability of any site and still have enough time for other meaningful tasks.
