Tech.Co is proud to present our Tech Titan Q&A panel to address some of the audience’s most pertinent questions in regards to funding your startup. From your pitch to your network, these Titans will make sure you know how to inject some capital into your startup.

Here are the tech titans taking the stage in Silicon Valley in a few weeks:

Lo Toney, Partner at GV

Lo Toney

Lo joined GV from Comcast Ventures, where he focused on the Catalyst Fund, a group of investments in early stage technology startups led by entrepreneurs of color. He specializes in consumer technology investments, with an emphasis on mobile messaging, marketplaces, and e-commerce.

Lo has held executive roles at both startups and global consumer brands. He was the general manager of Zynga Poker, the gaming company’s largest franchise, and held operating positions at Nike.com and eBay.

Jeff Clavier, founder of SoftTech VC


SoftTech VC, one of the original seed VC firms in Silicon Valley, having closed 175+ investments since 2004. An early angel investor in Web 2.0, Jeff and his team have backed successful startups like Bleacher Report, Fitbit, Eventbrite, Postmates, and many more. In 2004, Jeff left RVC to start SoftTech VC and invest in the early pioneers of Consumer Internet.

Within a couple of years, he was being recognized in the media as one of the “super angels”, and in 2007, he subsequently raised one of the first micro-VC funds, $15M Fund II. Two years later, the firm announced the closing of $150M across two funds, a $100M seed-focused Fund V and a $50M Plus fund that is making $3M to $5M investments in mature, existing portfolio companies.

Tammi Smorynski‪, Director at Intel Capital


Tammi has been focused on emerging technologies at Intel Capital. From 2000 to 2005, Tammi was a treasury manager supporting Intel Capital and responsible for financial due diligence and structuring of over 70 investments across a variety of sectors including wireless, sensors/RFID and software.

Prior to Intel Capital, Tammi was with J.P. Morgan & Co., focused on leveraged buyout transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Tammi is board observer of Gainspan, Precision Hawk, RF Code, Thalmic Labs and has invested in and managed exit for Navini Networks and Crossbow Technology.

Lisa Lambert, Managing Partner at Westly Group


Lisa Lambert is a managing partner at the Westly Group responsible for investments in software, IOT, and the internet. Prior to joining the Westly Group, Lisa was a vice-president at Intel Capital and the managing director of Intel Capital’s Software and Services Fund and the Intel Capital Diversity Fund where she managed over 70 portfolio companies and a team of 8 investment professionals.

Lisa was just named the #1 Rising Star on an elite list of corporate venture capitalists by Global Corporate Venturing, a 10,000 member global organization of the corporate venture capital industry. Lisa is also founder, chairman and CEO of UPWARD, a professional not-for-profit organization focused on accelerating careers of female executives.

Arjun Sethi, Partner at Social Capital

Arjun Sethi

Arjun Sethi is a partner at Social Capital. His company MessageMe was acquired by Yahoo in 2014 where he joined the company and over saw the Growth Team. Sethi was the CEO of Lolapps that was acquired by Nexon. He has invested in over 50 companies in the tech space.

As an angel investor, he has invested in more than 50 companies in the tech space including Joist, TrueCaller, Gusto, Shyp, FrontApp, Clutter, Luxe, Radius, Forge, among others, and he serves as an advisor to a number of companies in his portfolio. Sethi holds a B.A. in History from University of Maryland, College Park.
