If your weekend plans were lacking in luster, PowerInbox has a possible solution. On Thursday, the company that brought us interactive email released their latest product, PicYourWeekend. Built on the PowerInbox platform, the app promises to help users plan their weekends with ease.
With PicYourWeekend, your email is turned into a Flipboard-style immersive experience. By simply swiping across eye-catching images, the app’s learning algorithm matches you to personalized events around town (pulled from the data feeds of multiple event sites), in real-time, right inside your email.
“PicYourWeekend revolutionizes how content is delivered in email,” says Dileep Thazhmon, PowerInbox COO. “For instance, today if you open an email at 7am or 7pm, you will see the same content, because it is static and doesn’t update over time. This is what is fundamentally different with PicYourWeekend – the content is dynamic and live; you will always receive the latest, tailored content, customized just for you when you open a PicYourWeekend email.”
PicYourWeekend gets better the more you use it and tailors its recommendations to your likes and interests. In other words, the more you use it, the better your weekends could be.
“With PicYourWeekend you receive personalized recommendations for the upcoming weekend that are created in real-time, as you open and click through the email,” says Thazhmon. “We’ve focused on creating a simple, responsive and fun UX that tailors itself around your preferences.”
So far, the outlook for PicYourWeekend is bright. The initial beta testing has been positive, and the team hopes more users will share and try the product – especially since it’s completely free.
“PowerInbox allows users to browse, buy, and share all from within their email, and we’re excited that now users can conveniently plan their weekends as well without leaving their inbox,” says Jeff Kupietzky, PowerInbox CEO.
The team recently launched PicYourWeekend with a focus on New York City, and they plan to expand to other cities soon.
