Chat rooms have been a hot topic lately as Chatroulette and other have raised overall awareness of chat rooms. lissn a startup that initially launched at TechCrunch50 this past year just relaunched a chat room-like conversation experience. The new version of lissn offers a new, more simplified user experience and a focus now on each user and the conversations they have. lissn does this by offering chat rooms organized by user. So each user has their own chat room assigned to them and users can join in. lissn enables users to listen in, say something or ask a question. If you find a person interesting you can save them to “your memory” so you can find them later. The lissn interface is unique and it might be a little confusing to users at first.

Check out some of the lissn screen-shots below.

The leaderboard view above displays the number of people in each chat room organized by person so I could see people striving for that top stop.

Check out the lissn video (below). It’s a little misleading as lissn is not an audio site so don’t take it literally. Then head over to lissn to start your own conversation and let us know what you think.
