From now until May 15, LIVESTRONG is accepting applications for its Big C competition for innovators helping people live with cancer.

A total of $140,000 in prizes will be awarded, including a top prize of $25,000. Entries include everything from a search engine for the cancer community to a special sports bra for women with breast cancer to an education program for children whose relatives have been diagnosed.

Morgan Binswanger, EVP of external affairs at LIVESTRONG, joined us for an interview at our SXSW Startup Celebration sponsored by .CO and CEA. He talked about why LIVESTRONG focuses on living with cancer rather than curing it, and what they’re looking for in the Big C competition. Here’s the video.

Editor’s Note: Thank you to .CO and CEA, sponsors of Tech Cocktail’s 2014 SXSW Startup Celebration!
